    Holyhead Wales United Kingdom

Well today marked the end of our official tour of Wales - it all passed in such a blur!

Woke up this morning at Bala Backpackers - the place is run by a lady with some OCD issues - there are signs EVERYWHERE! things to clean times to be calm lights to turn off lights to turn on. The showers ran to a timer of course the time was about 30 seconds - so the water wasn't even warm and the thing had shut off! I found the trick was to keep pressing the button every couple of seconds - serene was the shortest shower i've had in a long time though!

So off we set in the silver shell once again - we stopped through Betws y coed a small alpine love village in the mountains. The Autumn leaves were all different colours and it was just beautiful.

Then through the Snowdonia national park. Mt Snowdon is the highest peak in Wales and England - only a 1 in 10 opportunity of seeing the summit except we were lucky enough to briefly see it! We were also lucky enough to see a Snowdonian Mountain Goat they generally live higher in the mountains but this dude had a bit of limp which is why he was down by the road side - they're pretty rare to see (1 in 50 chance) our tour conduct was pretty chuffed.

Caernarfon castle was next - this was the place where Prince Charles was inaugurated like the Prince of Wales in the 60's. It was a stronghold for King Edward the 1st when he invaded Wales and is heritage listed as one of the best examples of medieval castles.

Then along the bridge into Anglesea - we stopped by the village with the longest name in the world - see photo - and even got our passports stamped at the shop there!

Then down into Holyhead where we said goodbye to Mike and the silver bullet - now if you are ever planning a trip to Wales the one person you MUST meet is Mike Davies - seem up Dragon Tours and he will give you the best tour of your life - the man is just an encylopdia of knowledge!

    Off to Ireland tomorrow!
